Opened in March by husband-and-wife team Sam Wells and Liz McArthur, this silly store—its official name is Toy de Jour: Vintage, Toys, Arts & Farts—sells a serious collection of nostalgic toys from classic franchises such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, and My Little Pony. After you finish geeking out, cruise through the racks of vintage clothing, quirky home decor, and locally produced art."

"For anyone still mourning the loss of Lakeview's Uncle Fun, there may be cause to celebrate. Husband-and-wife team Sam Wells and Liz McArthur have opened Toy de Jour, 2064 N. Western Ave., selling vintage toys and more. They characterize their shop, and themselves, as "Uncle Fun’s nerdy nephew and weirdo niece."

"Walking into Toy De Jour: Vintage, Toys, Arts & Farts is like stepping back in time to 1985. This vintage toy store, which opened on Monday, sells everything your innocent young heart ever desired—My Little Pony, He-Man, Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers—you name it. Only now, you don’t need mom and dad’s permission."
