About Toy de Jour
Owners Sam Wells and Liz McArthur have been buying/selling/collecting toys/vintage/art together since they were teenagers renting booths at small toy shows in machinist halls in their hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. They have been doing the same here in Chicago for the past 20 years, and finally decided to put a roof over it in March 2014. The couple also showcases various art shows throughout the year, in addition to the large amount of collectibles within their shop.
IYKYK: In March 2014, husband and wife team opened a vintage collectible & toy store overflowing with all of your childhood memories. With items ranging from designer vinyl toys, to action figures to vintage jewelry to one-of-a-kind finds, there's something for everyone. Located at 2532 W Fullerton Ave. in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood – this store adds to the already thriving area which includes Logan Arcade, Nakama Toys, Fireside Bowl, and numerous other restaurants, bars, and shops.
Toy de Jour has been featured in House Magazine, LoganSquarist, The Daily Beast, DNAinfo, Block Club Chicago, WGN Around Town and had their own episode of ‘A Toy Store Near You’ (S4: E3, available on Amazon Prime). Sam and Liz are so grateful to have been covered in numerous other outlets and are pretty proud to have been named Winner of Chicago Magazine's ‘Best Nostalgic Trip Award’. They also sell fart machines.
